Today we have heard from a Rumah Bahasa victim (calling herself Hollie) that the Rumah Bahasa branch at Sunter Mall has now closed. Former customers are now being directed to the Rumah Bahasa branch at TBI Kelapa Gading, often known as Rumah Bahasa Lotte Mart. This appears to be the last Rumah Bahasa standing, and surely it too will close when the current lease runs out. What we now see is the walls of Rumah Bahaya (The House of Danger) collapsing at a rapid pace, and this fraudulent business’s last remaining branch will eventually close too, bringing this sorry tale of woe to an end. In a nutshell, Rumah Bahasa Sunter Mall is now the 4th branch to go out of business, and there is only a single domino left to fall.

TBI (The British Institute), a scam-ridden competitor of Rumah Bahasa, has gone so far as to complain to WordPress that we are “escalating our campaign” against Rumah Bahasa, even submitting an official legal document, and requested that WordPress take down this site. With this action, TBI has once again done a great disservice to the English students of Indonesia. As numerous comments on this website make clear, scores of Indonesians have been cheated out of millions of rupiah each by Frendy Horas, the 23 year-old con artist who runs Rumah Bahasa, causing considerable financial hardship for them and their families. In siding with Rumah Bahasa over the interests of their defrauded customers, TBI has once again demonstrated its lack of a moral compass. For us, however, it is not surprising that TBI (long jammed full of unqualified ‘teachers’ on sham visas) should be nervous about Rumah Bahasa and its con-artist owner. It is all a little too close to home.

It seems appropriate at this point to quote a couple of recent posts from cheated and robbed Rumah Bahasa customers. One is 2 million out of pocket due to Horas’s scams, and the other is owed a whopping 6 million rupiah. Dita and Hollie have been victimized by Rumah Bahasa, but with complete disregard and even contempt for their situation, TBI has judged it timely and appropriate to petition WordPress to shut this site down, silencing their voices because it might cost TBI a few dollars. Bersyukurlah yang ‘hanya’ hilang dua juta..saya hilang 6 juta dari RB lotte bintaro yg kini ganti nama mjd Learn and Beyond dan katanya pemiliknya juga sudah ganti.Ada juga yang bilang namanya berubah jadi Buana Bahasa, mungkin di cabang lain ya…moral of the story, cari kursus yang sudah mapan sajalah walopun repot karena tidak berlokasi di mall.Anehnya pihak lotte angkat tangan lho dan tidak menggubris complaint kami.
